This policy explains how Mota handles personal information in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023.
Information we collect
Account information, profile details, messages, driver and vehicle information, verification results, uploaded documents, subscription records, ratings and trip-location information when live tracking is used.
Why we use it
We use information to provide the marketplace, verify drivers, protect users, process subscriptions, support conversations and meet legal obligations. Access is limited to what is needed for each purpose.
Documents and retention
Driver verification documents are private and available only to the driver and authorised reviewers. Mota stores the vNIN token and match result, not the raw 11-digit NIN. Documents are retained while the listing is active and for a limited period where legal or safety obligations require it.
Your rights
You may request access, correction or deletion. Drivers can delete their listing and uploaded documents from the driver dashboard. Some records may be retained where the law requires it.
